History
1878 and 1990 are
two important years in the history of the First National Bank. The
Clifton bank was chartered in 1878, and it has served its community
steadily, through good times and bad. It is located on the line
separating Washington and Clay counties and boasts of rich farmland
in the Republican River valley.
In 1990 a branch
office was established in St. Marys which is located in a growing
area in Pottawatomie County, Kansas. This community was home to a
Catholic mission that was a popular stop on the Oregon Trail back in
the 1850's. Today St. Marys greets travelers on Highway 24.
The Bank had
embraced 21st century technology while maintaining old-fashioned,
personal service. First National Bank of Clifton is located at 103 E
Parallel and our St Marys branch is located at 414 W Bertrand. The
phone number in Clifton is 785-455-3345 and in St. Marys is
785-437-6585.
The bank is a
member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Kansas
Bankers Association, the Community Bankers Association, and is an
Equal Housing Lender.
